A little screaming, pooping bundle of Joy

by flowersjustin on September 20, 2008

I’m sitting in my living room at 10:30am on a Saturday morning with red eyes, a fuzzy mind, and a cup of coffee in my hand and trying to be completely quiet.

Dana is napping in the front bedroom after being up for most of the night. And, I have been woefully neglectful of this blog. The reason for all of this nonsense is lying 2 feet from me, passed out like a drunken sailor.

Without further ado, meet Matilda Lorelei. Tomorrow morning at 1am she will be 2 weeks old. And, even though she seems to only function as a poop machine that wakes everyone up every 3 hours, we’re apparently planning to keep her around.

Babies are a fascinating phenomenon. Did you know they can’t take care of themselves? It’s weird. And I was talking to Dana, who read a book on the subject, and – evidently, it’s YEARS before they are able to! They’re like extremely loud little quadriplegics, but instead of not being able to move they seem to move too much.

And, while we did get a really pretty one, I was hoping to get a reprieve from yard work… It looks like it’s going to be a while before I can show her how to use the weed eater.

Oh well, I hope you’re having a great week.

You are hilarious, and a great Dad and guy all around!
  • Congratulations! She is beautiful. And don't buy that whole "helpless" thing. Babies are always trying to duck out of doing their fair share of the yard work. :-P

    Sweet. :)
